The Silvertone 1423 Jupiter is one of the crown jewels of the 1960s Sears catalog era—an elegant and expressive semi-hollow built by Harmony in Chicago. Finished in its signature black with gold-flecked sparkle, the Jupiter’s Les Paul-inspired body design and distinctive DeArmond pickups make it as visually striking as it is sonically versatile.

Constructed with a spruce top and back paired with maple sides, the semi-hollow body (without sound holes) delivers a lively, resonant tone that blends warmth and bite in perfect balance. The ebony fingerboard and comfortable 24 1/4" scale give the guitar a smooth, fast feel, while the 1 3/4" bone nut offers ample string spacing for both chordal and lead work.

Where the Jupiter truly shines is in its electronics—a pair of DeArmond “Silver Foil” pickups known for their clarity, sparkle, and dynamic response. The guitar shows light cosmetic wear typical of a well-kept vintage instrument.
