This 1980 Yamaha SL 500S Studio Lord is a Japan-built solid body finished in a classic Sunburst. Known for its high-quality craftsmanship during Yamaha’s golden-era production, this model offers excellent sustain, balance, and a resonant tonal character thanks to its maple top and mahogany body construction.
The maple neck paired with a rosewood fingerboard features a 14" radius, 25.5" scale length, and 1.675" nut width. The ABR-style bridge ensures solid intonation and tuning stability, while the Kluson tuners offer reliable performance and a vintage-inspired aesthetic.
Equipped with two humbuckers (not original), this Studio Lord delivers warm, full-bodied tones with clear articulation and strong output. The guitar shows typical cosmetic wear for its age, including light surface scratches and minor dings.
This guitar has been set up by our in-house luthier and is ready for the stage/studio! Please review all photos for cosmetic condition and feel free to reach out with any questions.
