The Gibson Custom Shop J-45 Walnut is a refined take on one of Gibson’s most iconic slope-shoulder dreadnoughts, crafted with elevated attention to detail and premium tonewoods. Built by the Gibson Custom Shop, this model blends traditional J-45 heritage with the distinctive tonal character and visual appeal of walnut back and sides.
Featuring a Sitka spruce top paired with walnut back and sides, this J-45 offers a slightly brighter, more articulate response compared to traditional mahogany-bodied versions, while still retaining the warm low end and focused midrange the model is known for. The result is a balanced, dynamic acoustic well-suited for strumming, flatpicking, and fingerstyle playing.
As with all J-45s, the comfortable short-scale neck contributes to an easy, relaxed playing feel, making it a favorite among singer-songwriters and working musicians. The Custom Shop build quality elevates this classic design, delivering exceptional resonance, responsiveness, and craftsmanship throughout.
