Available now is a vintage 1986 Fender Telecaster, made in Japan during the highly regarded era of Fender Japan production. Finished in classic black, this right-handed Telecaster features a 1-piece maple neck with walnut stripe, a 7.25" fingerboard radius, and the familiar 25.5" Fender scale length. The combination makes for a comfortable, immediately recognizable Telecaster playing experience.
This example retains its original Gotoh tuners, steel bridge, pickups, and wiring, keeping the instrument very much in its original configuration. The only modification is a replacement pickguard. With its straightforward Telecaster construction and original electronics, it delivers the bright, articulate attack and punchy twang that have made the model a staple across country, rock, blues, and indie music.
The guitar presents with a classic black poly finish and the honest character expected from a vintage instrument. It has a 1.65" nut width and a comfortable 7.25" radius, making it equally at home with traditional Telecaster styles and more modern applications. The original electronics remain intact and functional, while the non-original hardshell case provides solid protection for transport and storage.
This 1986 Fender Japan Telecaster is a great opportunity to pick up a vintage Japanese-built Fender with its original pickups, wiring, hardware, and maple neck. Please review all photos for complete cosmetic detail, and feel free to reach out with any questions!
