The 1980 Fender Stratocaster in Lake Placid Blue is a beautiful example of late-CBS era Fender craftsmanship, offering a unique combination of vintage tone, premium materials, and striking visual character. This USA-made Strat features a rarely seen factory Lake Placid Blue finish over a lightweight swamp ash body, delivering a lively, resonant tone with exceptional sustain and clarity.
The neck is a one-piece maple construction with a comfortable D profile, true to many late '70s/early '80s Fenders. It features a 7.25" radius, vintage-style frets, and that unmistakable Fender feel—ideal for players who appreciate a more traditional setup.
Adding to its uniqueness, this Strat is outfitted with brass hardware throughout, enhancing sustain and offering a slightly warmer tonal response compared to standard steel. Only the tuners remain stock: classic Fender “F” stamped units that hold pitch reliably.
The electronics are original and include a trio of Fender single-coil pickups paired with a 5-way selector switch, providing all the iconic Strat tones—from glassy neck-position cleans to sharp bridge-position bite. The Lake Placid Blue finish has gracefully aged and shows natural wear consistent with its age, giving it a classic, road-worn charm.
