Up for sale we have a 1970's Univox Hi-Flier Phase 2 (made in Japan) in very good condition. Serial number is 0128565. Please notice the wear on the sides of the body. This guitar has two Mosrite P-90 pickups. The scale is 24 3/4" and there are 21 frets. The Hi-Flier likely is among the first of Univox's guitars. This one is badged Aria but was made by the same Matsumoku factory... Matsumoku was on the best woodworking and guitar manufacturing factories in Japan and made guitars for many different brands like Victor, Silvertone, Elk and of course, Univox for the US market. The Hi-Flier takes after the Mosrite Ventures Model, the ultimate surf rock signature guitar. The body contours are often called a “German Carve” as these guitars featured a really nicely sculpted body, which was all done with human hands! This guitar has a three way switch and two control knobs. The Sugar Darlin' and rose sticker are not original but we thought it would be best to keep it on the guitar.
