This 1961 Fender Jazzmaster is a striking early-’60s example, refinished in classic black by renowned finisher Carson Hess. The alder body wears the refinish beautifully, giving this offset icon a sleek, understated look while preserving the unmistakable lines and feel that made the Jazzmaster a favorite among surf pioneers, indie trailblazers, and tone purists alike.

The original-style rosewood slab fingerboard and maple neck deliver the smooth, broken-in playability associated with pre-CBS Fenders. With its 7.25" radius and full 25.5" scale length, this Jazzmaster offers a comfortably familiar feel that excels at both expressive chord work and fluid lead playing. The frets are all original with a low profile but play great.

Known for its wide, articulate single-coil pickups and unique offset design, the Jazzmaster remains one of Fender’s most sonically versatile models, offering everything from warm, rounded cleans to cutting, percussive attack. This example retains all the character and vibe that make early Jazzmasters so inspiring to play.
