For sale is a rare and soulful 1936 National Duolian Squareneck resonator guitar. Built during the golden era of pre-war resonator production after National merged operations in Chicago, this steel-bodied instrument is a phenomenal piece of American music history, specifically tailored for lap-style slide and Hawaiian playing.
The chunky, solid square neck provides the ultimate stability for open tunings, paired with a flat rosewood fingerboard and classic dot inlays. Driven by its original single-cone "biscuit" resonator design and rolled f-holes, this Duolian delivers a powerful, punchy, and highly focused acoustic tone with the unmistakable metallic bark and incredible projection that defined early blues and slide music.
Our in-house luthier has fully inspected this instrument. It is fully functional, structurally sound, and ready for the stage or studio. It shows cosmetic wear, tarnishing, and character consistent with a 90-year-old vintage instrument. Please review the photos for exact cosmetic condition.
