The 1934 Martin 0-17 is a quintessential example of Martin’s pre-war craftsmanship and one of the most beloved small-body acoustics from the company’s golden era. Celebrated for its warm, dry, and woody tonal character, the 0-17 has long been a favorite among blues, folk, and early Americana players for its immediacy, balance, and expressive voice.

Built with an all-mahogany body, this 0-17 delivers a focused, fundamental-forward sound with strong midrange presence and clear, articulate trebles. The mahogany top responds quickly to a light touch, making this instrument especially well suited for fingerstyle playing and subtle dynamic control, while the compact 0-size body offers an intimate playing experience with impressive projection.

The mahogany neck features Martin’s classic pre-war carve and is paired with a rosewood fingerboard, contributing warmth and smooth articulation to the instrument’s overall response. A 24.9" scale length and wider 1 3/4" nut width provide generous string spacing and a relaxed, comfortable feel under the fingers.

This guitar has benefited from essential professional maintenance, including a neck reset, bridge reset, and installation of a new saddle. All work was completed by the highly regarded Victor Guitars in Denver. As a true pre-war Martin, this 1934 0-17 represents a remarkable piece of American guitar history.
