Constructed a century ago, this L-2 has aged remarkably well and remains both stunning and highly playable. This small archtop features a round soundhole, a carved Maple and Spruce body, and a v-shaped, short scale neck. It produces a punchy sound with a warm, dry midrange and a compact, articulate low end.
Originally made between 1902 and 1907, the L-2 was discontinued before being reintroduced with these specifications for a brief period from 1924 to 1926, making this guitar quite rare. This L-2 is the smaller "parlor" sized version, with a lower bout of 13 3/4" and the upper bout 10" wide. The action of this guitar is on the high side, but, retains all of its original components and has no evidence of any repairs or structural work. We are leaving the decisions on the future of this 100 year old time capsule to the next owner.
